The popular gaming broadcast platform, Twitch, has added about 3.5 million new users this year, a growth of 87.81% compared to the previous year, bringing the total number of users to 7.4 million by the end of May. It is the highest number the platform has reached since its foundation.
Twitch started the year with 3.94 million users, then the number decreased to 3.75 million users in February, but the number quickly increased the speed of the missile in March to 5.08 million in April, a growth of 35.4% over February, then the number rose to 7.21 million in April, and ends with 7.4 Million in May, according to the Finbold Report.
The large increase in the number of users on the game broadcast platform is due to the spread of the Corona epidemic and the increase in home quarantine in most countries of the world.
The highest jump was the number of users in January 2019 when the number reached 4.54 million users, but the previous record was broken this year.
The most watched games on Twitch
While the number of users on the platform increased, some games managed to make a big jump in the hours of watching among broadcasters; Just Chatting views reached 43.2 million hours, League of Legends followed with 30.9 million watch hours, then GTA 5 with 24.9 million watch hours, Fortnite with 24.8 million watch hours, and CS: Go with 18.2 million hours.
While COD: Modern Warfare has reached 18.4 million watch hours, and FIFA 20 has reached 8.65 million hours.
Other games like Valorant have reached 16.5 million watch hours, Minecraft has reached 9.84 million, and Dota 2 has reached 10.1 million.
